Pennsylvania Hosting Lehigh Valley Workshop to Boost Small Business

SBI-Logo-Final.pngThe Pennsylvania Treasury is hosting a great event next week in Bethlehem aimed at giving local small businesses a boost.

The Small Business Initiative event, taking place Thursday, May 19 at Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics, includes a series of workshops on key issues for small businesses including health and insurance, corporate structure and governance, finance and revenue and legal and intellectual property.

An additional workshop session on the procurement process will be led by the Pennsylvania Departments of General Services and Community and Economic Development.

“We are offering area businesses the opportunity to learn from experts and arm them with the information and contacts they need to increase revenues and jobs,” Pennsylvania Treasurer Timothy Reese said in a press release.

William Hindle, president of HindlePower in Easton, will give the keynote address about his path to success. HindlePower has won the Excellence in Business Award from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and was recognized with the state of Pennsylvania’s Entrepreneurial Impact award.

The SBI is aimed at small business owners who have been in business a minimum of three years with gross revenues exceeding $250,000 for the prior two years and who provide a product or service with expansion plans within the next six to 12 months.

The SBI event includes breakfast, lunch and access to 12 workshops. Registration is $50 and pre-registration is required at patreasury.gov/sbi
