Small Business Week: Free Seminars on Launching, Financing and Growing Your Business

They’ve been the cornerstone of our business for much of our almost 100-year history, and we love to see our small business clients thrive and grow from our accounting and tax advice.

Small businesses contribute so much to our economy – in fact, here in Pennsylvania, they account for more than 98 percent of all employers. They’re something to be celebrated for sure.

In honor of Small Business Week, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is offering some great free events, including a Small Business Day on Wednesday at Northampton Community College and daily educational webinars.

The Small Business Day, hosted by U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent and Lehigh University’s Small Business Development Center, includes seminars on starting a business, financing a business and how to seek both government and international sales. The free webinars cover starting a small business, financing options and exploring new market opportunities. Check out the full details below:

Starting a Small Business: 12 to 1 p.m. today: An introduction to the basics of starting a small business in Pennsylvania, this webinar will provide participants with information about registrations, licenses, business structures, and business plan development.

Financing a Small Business: 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday: This session will introduce the audience to public sector partners who work with the private sector to provide assistance in funding a start-up business.

Leveraging LinkedIn to Supercharge Prospecting, Referrals and Sales: 12 to 1 p.m. Wednesday: In this fast-paced, 60-minute session you will learn a proven process used by thousands of business go-getters across the country are to find, connect and build incredibly valuable business relationships.

Exploring New Market Opportunities: 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday: This session will cover opportunities that exist with the U.S. government and in the global marketplace.

Taking Your Business to the Next Level: 12 to 1 p.m. Friday: This session will focus on issues facing companies poised to grow and take the next step in the business life cycle.
