To help business owners and executives understand the full impact of the new federal tax law, Concannon Miller will detail the many changes at five educational events.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is the biggest federal tax overhaul in at least 30 years. There are numerous changes affecting tax benefits for businesses, their owners and other individuals.

Concannon Miller take part in an upcoming panel discussion on what changes businesses may face in 2018.

Shareholder Tony Deutsch will detail the many likely federal tax changes for both businesses and individuals during the Lehigh Valley Business 2018 Outlook event. The event takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. Dec. 15 at the Event Center at Blue.

Other discussion topics include health care, interest rates and mergers & acquisitions.

Concannon Miller is proud to announce it’s been nominated for Lehigh Valley Business of the Year and that its retired CEO has been inducted into the LVB Hall of Fame.

Bob Oster, who led the firm for 18 years until his retirement last year, is part of the 2017 Lehigh Valley Business Hall of Fame class, along with C.F. Martin IV from C.F. Martin & Co. and Craig E. Poole from DoubleTree by Hilton.

The firm as a whole is nominated in the Business of the Year, 24-100 employees category.

Concannon, Miller & Co. announces the hiring of Robert Baldree, a CPA with almost 20 years’ experience, as a new senior manager in its St. Petersburg office.

Mr. Baldree will help advise Concannon Miller’s many McDonald’s franchise clients, a firm specialty niche for almost 50 years.

Mr. Baldree, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), also holds Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credentials.

“Regain Control of Your Healthcare Spend: The Winning 5-Year Plan,” will offer numerous actionable tips on how businesses can save on healthcare and taxes.

Concannon Miller CPAs will advise brewers on how best to grow their business at the 3^rd annual Brewers of Pennsylvania’s Mid Atlantic Brewers’ Symposium.

The firm’s “Think Like a CFO” presentation will cover cash management, how to access capital, tax strategies and growth planning.

For decades, Concannon Miller has advised business owners on succession planning. And more than a decade ago, recognized it was time to start putting their advice into action for their own business.

The firm first developed a succession plan for its shareholders retiring between 2010 and 2020. Those transitions have been very successful and are ongoing.

Recently, Concannon Miller decided to up its game in succession planning even more. In 2015, Concannon Miller started its Next Gen Leader Program, a two-year program geared at preparing its top young CPAs for future leadership positions at the firm.

Starting June 30 and running through Sept. 1, both the Pennsylvania and Florida offices will close Friday at noon.
