The Morning Call recently acknowledged their many exciting projects and standout leaders in its list of 17 NonProfit Leaders to Watch in 2017.

Concannon Miller congratulates three of our clients recognized for their accomplishments:

  • PBS39 CEO Timothy Fallon: The Morning Call noted it's a big year for the station, which is marking its 50th anniversary. The station in January announced anniversary events and WLVT 3.0 — its strategy for the next 20 years that will include new partnerships and town hall discussions about community issues.
  • National Museum of Industrial History President & CEO Amy Hollander: After 17 years of fundraising and planning, the National Museum of Industrial History opened its doors last year in a former Bethlehem Steel building on the city's South Side, the Call noted.
  • ArtsQuest President & CEO Kassie Hilgert: Hilgert is starting her third year in charge of arguably the region's most important arts organization, which runs Musikfest, other music festivals, Bethlehem's ArtsQuest Center and Christkindlmarkt, the Call noted.

“Nonprofits are incredibly vital to our community and helping them succeed is one of our proudest accomplishments at Concannon Miller,” says Concannon Miller Shareholder Andrea L. Brady, CPA, head of the firm’s nonprofit niche.

Concannon Miller has specialized in advising NPOs as well as providing audit and accounting services for decades. The firm’s clients include many of the Lehigh Valley’s largest nonprofits – including the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and Discover Lehigh Valley – in addition to the three that made The Morning Call list. Concannon Miller has been the advisor for ArtsQuest and Discover Lehigh Valley since their founding.

“Concannon Miller has been a true partner with Discover Lehigh Valley since our founding in 1984. Their focus on providing high-quality, hands-on service has never wavered,” Discover Lehigh Valley President Mike Stershic says. “We can count on Concannon Miller to provide accurate and helpful information whenever they are asked. None of this has affected their objectivity in performing our audits over that period. We can count on them to ask the tough questions and ensure that we are doing things accurately and appropriately.”

From government funding to mission-critical issues, nonprofits face complexities that are completely distinct from those faced by for-profit businesses. Concannon Miller’s highly skilled advisors provide valuable insight into protecting nonprofits from risks that could threaten their mission, recommendations on controls, and advice on basic accounting as well as providing efficient, courteous annual audit services.

The professionals at Concannon Miller understand more than the numbers of a nonprofit – many actively serve on nonprofit boards. We understand the challenges of running a nonprofit from an insider’s perspective, and the importance of staying committed to the mission.

Congratulations again to our dear clients who made The Morning Call list and to the many, many Lehigh Valley nonprofits doing amazing work!
