Concannon, Miller & Co. was proud to be the presenting sponsor for the inaugural Lehigh Valley Business Manufacturing Symposium for the great opportunity to connect with businesses in one of the firm’s key services group.
The event, held Oct. 7 at the Allentown Fairgrounds, brought together some of the Lehigh Valley’s top manufacturers, including B. Braun Medical, Inc., Crayola LLC and Just Born, Inc.
Concannon Miller has a long history of serving manufacturers in the Lehigh Valley, President and COO Ted Witman said.
“Our associates at Concannon Miller understand your world is constantly changing,” said Witman, who noted he ran a manufacturing company for 25 years before joining Concannon Miller. “We understand the dynamic marketplace you serve.”
Concannon Miller Shareholder Tony Deutsch moderated a panel discussion on The Future of Manufacturing featuring speakers from Applied Controls, Inc. and ProtoCAM.
Concannon Miller also debuted its manufacturing video, featuring testimonials from Polykote Corp. and Weyerbacher Brewing Co. The manufacturing industry is Concannon Miller’s largest growing practice area, serving a multitude of manufacturers and distributors in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions.
Officials from Crayola and Just Born both shared how they’ve grown business substantially by developing new products to create significant sales outside of only Easter for Just Born and back-to-school for Crayola.
Crayola Executive Vice President of Global Operations Peter Ruggiero also gave an impassioned plea to the 250 attendees to consider reshoring manufacturing in the United States. Crayola does most of its manufacturing domestically and has increased that ratio in recent years for greater control and to increase production flexibility, Ruggiero said.
Concannon Miller is participating in several more manufacturing events this month, including the Brewers of Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic Brewers Symposium on Oct. 9 and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce's Manufacturing Summit on Oct. 28.
