Concannon Miller is very proud to be a winner of the 2017 Societas Award for Responsible Corporate Conduct, a prestigious ethics award.

Presented by DeSales University’s Forum for Ethics in the Workplace, the award honors businesses that demonstrate responsible corporate conduct through legal compliance, corporate and individual accountability, commitment to stakeholders, and social responsibility. Concannon Miller was the mid-size company award winner.

Under new leadership, Concannon Miller plans to continue its long history of being the top CPA firm serving franchisees nationwide while also growing its base among manufacturers and other Lehigh Valley businesses.

The company prepared for longtime CEO Bob Oster’s retirement for more than three years, with President and COO Ted Witman working hand-in-hand with Oster since November 2013. The firm also maintains its 12 shareholders, all who have advised business owners for decades.

“Even though Bob was our company face, our other shareholders and managers are highly trusted by their clients and well known,” Witman says. “We have a very strong team to keep us moving forward.”

Concannon Miller CEO Bob Oster, who led the firm through tremendous growth in his 18 years at the helm, has retired from the CPA firm.

Oster, who started with the firm in 1979 and became CEO in 1998, is credited with helping the firm double in size during his time as its leader.

“The firm grew significantly over the course of our careers here. In fact he’s probably been the catalyst for much of growth,” says Shareholder Bob Vitale, who started with the firm in 1976. “His clients love him – he headed up an important niche in the firm.”

Concannon Miller is very proud to be a recipient of an inaugural Linny Award from the ArtsQuest Foundation.

The awards are named the late Marlene “Linny” Fowler, a great philanthropist and champion of the arts in the Lehigh Valley. The awards, which will take place Nov. 10, honor artists, arts educators, businesses and philanthropists who live and work in the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Concannon Miller received the Small Business Supporter of the Arts award.
